The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1969 Stratocaster Heavy Relic in Bleached 3-Color Sunburst is a tasteful time machine that meticulously replicates the vibe and performance of a late-1960s icon. Built on a lightweight, select alder body, it features a heavy-aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish that simulates decades of intense stage wear, including deep patterns through the lacquer and tarnished hardware. Its quartersawn maple neck is carved into a period-accurate 1969 "U" shape and is paired with a round-laminated maple cap fingerboard, offering a palm-filling feel balanced by modern playability from a 9.5-inch radius and narrow-tall frets.
Tonally, this Stratocaster is highly versatile, equipped with a trio of hand-wound pickups: a mellow '69 Relic in the neck, a gritty Fat '50s in the middle, and a high-output Texas Special in the bridge, all controlled by a 5-way switch and vintage-style hardware.
