Marshall UK 1959SLP Super Lead 100-watt Tube Head 2004 w/Master Volume Mod, 1960AX 100-watt 4x12" Cabinet
The 100W Marshall Plexi 1959SLP all-tube amp head cranks out fabulous lead distortion and tight crunch exactly like the original '67 to '69 amp that it emulates. Inspired by Pete Townshend's unquenchable thirst for VOLUME, the Marshall Plexi 1959SLP guitar amp delivers 100W of power from 4 EL34s and 3 ECC83 tubes in the preamp-the exact configuration of the original. Marshall also equips the Plexi 1959SLP with a bypass series FX loop, 3-band EQ, and presence control.
The Marshall 1960AX consists of four Celestion G12M Greenback 12" speakers and has a 100W power handling rating. Tonally, this speaker cabinet falls between the 1960A's brightness and the 1960TV's warmth. Greenback G12M speakers have a very distinctive sound with a fast, snappy response that adds detail and dynamics to both clean and distorted playing. The 1960AX Extension Cabinet uses the early '70s LC checkered grille cloth and a less-textured vinyl covering.
This 2004 Marshall UK 1959SLP Super Lead 100-watt Tube Head w/Master Volume Mod, 1960AX 100-watt 4x12" Cabinet is in Very Good condition, part of a single-owner, climate controlled collection, with light visible wear (pictured) consistent with age and appropriate live and session use over 20 years. Popular Master Volume Mod professionally installed, adding master volume knob to one speaker output (pictured) to take full advantage of the 1959SLP's overdriven tone at low volume.
