Crafted in Brooklyn, NY, this remarkably gently aged 1966 Gretsch 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean Hollow Body boasts the instantly recognizable, bell-like warmth of twin single-coil Hi-Lo’Tron pickups, Gretsch’s full mono wiring setup with a Master Volume and individual volume controls plus pickup selector, tone, and standby, and Atkin's requisite "Gretsch by Bigsby" vibrato and zero fret. Low, even action across an inlaid 24.5" scale rosewood fingerboard and an oh-so-familiar 1 11/16" nut width makes this '66 Gretsch a genuine standby for loads of styles, at a price that still gets the green light for touring duty and studio sessions alike. Notes:
This 1966 Gretsch 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean Hollow Body is in Very Good condition, part of a single-owner, climate controlled collection, with extremely light wear consistent with age and occasional home use. An unfortunately nearly universal issue with Gretsch instruments of this era, the binding material has started to crack and decay (pictured). This particular instrument's binding is professionally evaluated as stable, and does not affect playability or performance. Includes original fitted hard case.
All instruments from Music Makers are professionally evaluated and set-up in our historic Galesburg, IL. storefront prior to shipping.
