Few instruments so perfectly capture the vibe and sound of an era as this lovingly aged 1957 Gibson J-160E, from its beautifully ambered sunburst finish to its instantly recognizable lush, balanced midrange— according to George Harrison, the only guitar to make an appearance on every Beatles album. Crafted with a laminate spruce top and ladder bracing to reduce feedback from its P90 pickup during live performances, bound mahogany back and sides lend the J-160E an acoustic warmth and sustain still sought after by session players and studio collections alike for its saturated, compressed tone.Low, even action across a professionally re-fretted rosewood fingerboard with a 1 11/16" nut, fully functional electronics, and just enough well-earned wear to give this vintage Gibson genuine character make this J-160E a shop favorite, with a long (ok, and winding) road ahead. Notes:
This 1957 Gibson J-160E Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric is in Very Good condition, part of a single-owner, climate controlled collection, with light wear (pictured) consistent with age and appropriate use, including professionally glued humidity-related hairline cracks on back, bass side and below bridge, bass side (pictured).
