Fender Mustang Bass 1966 (First Year) Walnut Stain Refin w/Original Hard Case
Quickly recognizable by its increasingly rare "logo only" headstock decal, this 1966 Fender Mustang Bass is one of the earliest production runs of the now iconic Leo Fender-designed offset short-scale. Originally Dakota Red, this Mustang Bass was professionally stripped and refinished decades ago in a refined satin walnut stain, allowing its alder grain to breathe and shine-through onstage.
Low, even action across a distractingly playable 30" scale rosewood fingerboard and original, fully functional electronics make this Mustang Bass a serious find for warming-up any session, delivering exactly the articulate, saturated "thump" we're looking for in a bass that's seen its share of studio work.
Notes: This 1966 Fender Mustang Bass Walnut Stain Refin is in Very Good condition, part of a single owner, climate-controlled collection, with very light surface wear (pictured), consistent with age and occasional home use. Includes original hard case, leather strap has torn over time. Does not include finger rest.
