More comfortable than an overstuffed armchair, the Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 is sleekly sculpted out of alder and coupled with a rock-solid bolt-on maple neck with a pair of graphite-reinforcement rods to handle the ravages of the road and climate. A conveniently located heel-mount spoke wheel allows for rapid truss rod tweaks, even in between songs. Engineered for effortlessly nimble playing, the speed neck profile and 12”-16” compound radius maple fingerboard with 22 frets is perfect for all styles of play – from low end riffing to soaring leads with worry-free upper-register bends. The Floyd Rose® 1000 Series double-locking tremolo bridge system allows players to scream and rumble without sacrificing tuning stability.
The professionally installed YJM Fury Loaded strat pickguard includes a calibrated set of the YJM Fury signature pickups, and the high-speed no-lube YJM volume potentiometer that meets Yngwie’s demands for speed and responsiveness. These handmade pickups are built and loaded into the pickguards in Santa Barbara, CA.
The bridge model is designed to handle Yngwie’s chordal onslaught, and it delivers a precise, articulate response that has just the right amount of high end without sounding harsh or brittle. The bridge model is wound hotter to provide better balance with the neck & middle pickups.
The neck and middle model is designed to bring out the balance of Yngwie’s fluid left-hand technique with his broad mix of right-hand pick attack for a tone that is sweet and smooth. There is just the right amount of high end to make this pickup extremely articulate, and especially responsive to dynamics.
Back in the 80s we patented a special bottom coil that actually injects negative hum into the pickup circuit and at the end of the production process, and we fine tune each pickup for maximum noise cancelation. You get all of the great qualities a classic Strat pickup, and none of the hum with our Stack pickups.
